At Daikin, we believe that sustainability is not just about environmental responsibility—it’s about creating value for all our stakeholders. Our approach encompasses environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and strong governance practices.

Through innovative products, responsible operations, and ethical business practices, we are committed to building a sustainable future for generations to come.

Environmental Stewardship

Our commitment to environmental sustainability drives every aspect of our operations. From product innovation to manufacturing processes, we continuously work to reduce our environmental footprint and contribute to a healthier planet.

Daikin aims to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions generated throughout the entire lifecycle of our products.

Furthermore, we are committed to creating solutions that link society and customers as we work with stakeholders to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero.

Using IoT and AI, and open innovation attempts, we will meet the world’s needs for air solutions by providing safe and healthy air environments while at the same time contributing to solving global environmental problems.

Daikin is proud to be identified with a status of being Ready to Join in the global initiative of Race to Zero campaign – to rally leadership and support from businesses in achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050.

We recognize that air conditioners consume a fair amount of electricity, and the use of refrigerants contributes to ozone depletion. To reduce our carbon footprint, we take conscious efforts to ensure our products’ end-to-end is aligned with our green efforts.

We alleviate the harmful effects of air conditioners by promoting products with 5-ticks highest energy efficiency rating and adopt eco-friendlier refrigerants such as R-32, R-1233zd, and R-1234ze with lower global warming potential. To advocate zero waste and eliminate the production of new refrigerants, we recover, reclaim and recycle refrigerants. We also utilise non-brazed connection with DGT and Mechfit to minimize refrigerant/water leakage into the environment.

Digital Transformation to Optimise Energy Efficiency

IoT and analytics can substantially improve energy efficiency, thereby reducing energy costs and improving sustainability. Embedding sensors or other IoT devices into various applications allows the collection of data in real-time and provides a feedback loop to better control systems and measure efficiency. We have synergized our expertise to develop a wide array of smart solutions to monitor, optimize and reduce carbon footprint while providing a high level of comfort and convenience.

  • Energy Solutions
Daikin supports the global push for reduction of carbon footprints and climate policies to save the environment. With this in mind, we have synergized our expertise in our core business in air-conditioning and refrigeration solutions with our environmental sustainability goals. We have developed a suite of Energy Solutions to help building owners achieve their Green initiatives objectives and Energy Efficiency goals. This works perfectly with our air-conditioning solutions to offer clear and tangible benefits to building and facilities owners in their energy usage while still maintaining their smooth business operations.

3 ‘R’s in our Initiative
Suitable for green buildings and customers adopting the green policies, our eco-refrigerant solution harnesses the 3 ‘R’s – namely below:

Stage 1: Recovery
Contractors collect used refrigerants into empty cylinders using a recovery machine, and drop off at Daikin Eco Corner.

Stage 2: Reclaiming
Daikin sends used refrigerant to reclamation facilities for purification and processing, ensuring it meets AHRI-700 standards.

Stage 3: Reusing
Contractors and dealers can reuse the reclaimed refrigerants on any air-conditioners without the need to produce new refrigerants.

Daikin’s Eco Corner

Daikin Singapore encompasses recovery, reclamation, and reuse as a complete refrigerant solution. As part of green efforts, we have set up an Eco-Corner, to allow your servicing contractor / installer to send recovered refrigerant to Eco Corner for reclamation and treatment.

Our Eco-Corner presently is at our Spare Parts Center.

Daikin is committed to complying with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012.

If you have any comments, suggestions or complaints, please contact us (and our Data Protection Officer) through our enquiry page.

Compliance and Education Efforts

Every year, we conduct self and risk assessment checks to ensure constant compliance with our Group Conduct Guidelines.

Daikin has designed a Privacy Policy and various in-house rules for information protection to properly collect, use, disclose and protect all personal information entrusted to us. For example, data protection officers and others in each division follow these in-house rules in leading employees in the strict protection of personal information.

To continually monitor and improve on our information security system, Internal Auditing Department conducts audits to ensure constant compliance with our Conduct Guidelines and Information Security policy.

We conducted Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) trainings to educate, keep informed with all changes of the Act and improve our policies and processes to comply with the rules and regulations of the Act.

ISO 27001:2022 Certified

Daikin has achieved ISO/IEC 27001 certification, a globally recognized standard for information security management. This milestone demonstrates our commitment to protecting sensitive data and ensuring robust cybersecurity practices across our operations.

As cyber threats continue to grow in complexity, ISO/IEC 27001 provides us with a structured framework to identify, assess, and mitigate risks proactively. The standard promotes a holistic approach—integrating people, processes, and technology—to strengthen our overall cyber resilience.

By implementing an Information Security Management System (ISMS) aligned with ISO/IEC 27001, we not only reinforce trust with our stakeholders but also support operational excellence and long-term sustainability.

Through strategic partnerships, we synergize our expertise and resources to create an enhanced value to the community and achieve greater sustainability.

To contribute positively to the national sustainability efforts, we are collaborating with Singapore Power Group to provide Singapore’s first large-scale residential Centralised Cooling System (CCS) in Tengah. Efficiency gains from this Centralised Cooling technology is significant where it translates to about 30GWh of energy savings annually. This equates to powering up to 9,000 3-room HDB flats. Tengah residents will enjoy a saving of up to 30% in energy costs.

With our green sustainability commitment and pursuit of achieving net-zero energy building, we acquired BMS Engineering & Trading Pte Ltd in 2019. BMS Engineering (a subsidiary of Daikin Singapore) is the only System Integrator certified by Schneider Electric (SE) as MASTER EcoXpert in Singapore. We aim to work with building owners to maximise building energy efficiency, while in the process achieving BCA Green Mark Platinum Certifications.

To further accelerate our sustainability efforts, we continuously search for relevant partners to collaborate with. We signed a MOU with VEMAC (part of A-GAS) to work on environmentally conscious refrigerant lifecycle methods such recovering, reclaiming, and recycling of refrigerants. Recently, we signed a MOU with Innovative Polymer to advocate the adoption of chemical-free Cooling Tower Water Treatment Solution for buildings in Singapore to achieve energy and water savings.
