Supporting REDAS Solidarity Project Fund: Efforts to Help Migrant Workers and Healthcare Workers Amid the COVID-19 Pandemic
The recent COVID-19 pandemic has taken the world by storm, with COVID-19 being extremely infectious. Singapore has seen a spike in number of cases, especially in areas where many clusters of cases are at foreign workers dormitories, aside from the community cases. This has resulted in a heavy responsibility on our healthcare workers to ensure the safety and well-being of these infected patients.
Here at Daikin Singapore, our slogan for our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is Daikin For You, thus we are committed to giving back to our society and the environment we care for. In times of such needs, we have rendered our support through a donation to the Real Estate Developers Association of Singapore (REDAS) Solidarity Project. This project aims to meet the essential needs amid the COVID-19 pandemic for the migrant worker’s community, who has contributed immensely to Singapore’s built environment. With the overwhelming support from various companies, REDAS has raised $760,000. Our contributions will go towards essential care pack items for the migrant workers who are current housed in more than 1,100 factory converted dormitories and other smaller migrant worker housing facilities. These dormitories lack the resources to implement proper precautionary measures. Furthermore, the donations will also be directed to aid the frontline healthcare workers in terms of welfare packs such as vitamin C and energy bars, and even hot meals, to thank them for their dedication and hard work during such a crucial and intense period.
We are extremely glad to be part of this REDAS Solidarity Project, and we are confident that Singapore as we unite together can win the fight against COVID-19.
