On 10 October 2022, Daikin Singapore alongside SP Group, STMicroelectronics, and Asia Projects Engineering Pte Ltd held a ground-breaking ceremony for the largest industrial district cooling plant in Ang Mo Kio – set to be operational by 2025.

The project was under a joint venture between Daikin Singapore and SP Group, known as Singapore District Cooling AMK Pte Ltd which was formed in May this year. The plant, which was built in Daikin Singapore’s main office in Ang Mo Kio, will supply chilled water to STMicroelectronics’ TechnoPark. It aims to reduce carbon emissions and electricity usage, allowing buildings to share and optimise load of cooling through centralised chiller plants.
